there was a man
he rode alone
across the plains
and through the snow
he rode a long time

he had left his home
his baby girl
his little boy
his only love
her only joy
his favorite tree
where he would go
enjoy the shade
all alone
he left it all

he had left with hope
but all he found

a quiet place
